Because this is my first day on my new blog. I would just like to give some background about me, before I get down to the nitty gritty. I'm a junior at Northern Illinois University. I play basketball and major in English and Spanish.
The name of this site is the complete culmination of who I am and who my people are:
"Diamond” derives from the ancient Greek adamas (αδάμας; “invincible”).
"A Diamond is the hardest material known to man and are specifically renowned as a mineral with superlative physical qualities — they make excellent abrasives because they can be scratched only by other diamonds. Roughly 49% of diamonds originate from central and southern Africa..." ~ Wikipedia
The color brown is produced by mixing complementary colors, such as red and green, orange and blue, or yellow and purple. Different qualities of brown can be produced by mixing different complements; naturally, a brown produced by mixing yellow and purple will be lighter than one produced by mixing blue and orange. Brown can therefore be an extremely versatile color in art, as different qualities of brown can be produced to harmonize with different color schemes. Additionally, some perceive that all the various skin colors of humans are different shades of brown.

I love the L Word. And, I hate the fact that I have to wait an entire year in order to see the new season. However, I love when I can get the new updates about what is going to happen in the next season so...
JANINA GAVANKAR
"JANINA GAVANKAR joins THE L WORD as Papi, a smokin hot Latino who challenges Shane (Katherine Moennig). Unlike Shane, Papi is competitive, gregarious, loud, bossy and boastful. She canoodles with everyone and competes with Shane."
I'm loving it!
"Oscar®-winner Marlee Matlin will become a regular on Showtime's successful long-running series "The L Word." She will portray a fiery artist who catches the attention of Jennifer Beals' character Bette Porter. The L Word's season 4 premieres on Showtime early 2007."
You might best remember Ms. Matlin as the first actress in Hollywood with a hearing impairment to win an Oscar. And, I like her... just not for Bette...
"WHO & WHAT: Showtime’s hit dramatic series THE L WORD, which recently added Oscar® winner Marlee Matlin to its cast welcomes yet another acclaimed actress to the fold for its 4th season -- Cybill Shepherd ("Moonlighting," "Cybill," "The Last Picture Show,""The Heartbreak Kid," "Texasville," "Taxi Driver," "At Long Last Love"). Ms. Shepherd will portray a married woman with two grown children who suddenly begins questioning her sexuality. She will appear in 11 episodes, starring as an Executive Vice Chancellor of the fictional California University and boss to Jennifer Beals’ character Bette Porter. THE L WORD will premieres in January 2007."
